Marriage Documents Package in Italy
Planning to consummate a marriage in Italy but don't know where to start? Unsure of what Russian documents is a Russian citizen required to submit to get married in Italy?
Italian state institutions normally require the following documents be provided:
- an apostilled birth certificate;
- an apostilled certificate of no impediment to marriage;
A translation of both documents from Russian into Italian must be certified at the General Consulate of Italy in the Russian Federation. These documents are required to receive a Nulla osta (a certificate of no impediment to marriage) at the Embassy of the Russian Federation on the territory of Italy.
Live in Italy permanently and not in a position to be able to come to Russia? Worry not. We’ll obtain and legalize all the documents you need for Italy ourselves!
- What do we do? We request replacement birth certificates and certificates of no impediment to marriage, get those documents apostilled, and our accredited translators at the Italian Consulate in Moscow then translate both certificates into Italian as well as having the accuracy of the translations certified at the General Consulate of Italy in Moscow (an appointment must be set in advance online – we’ll give you a detailed overview of how that’s done).
If need be, we’ll arrange the ready documents to be delivered to Italy via DHL delivery service.
Since every Italian municipality imposes its own requirements, we always recommend asking your host party to fill you in on all the documents you need to consummate a marriage in Italy. We also recommend asking the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Italy what the required steps are for obtaining a Nulla osta.
