Expedited certification services

Consular certification procedure in Russia consists of 5 stages:

• a copy of the document is certified by a notary;
• a translation of a certified copy of the document into the foreign language. In some cases the translation can only be done in the destination country;
• the translation is notarized or, more properly stated, the notary testifies to the authenticity of the translator's signature under the translation;
• the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation prints its mark, testifying to the authenticity of the signature and stamp of the notary;
• the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation prints its mark, testifying to the authenticity of the stamp and the signature of the Ministry of Justice functionary;
• the consular department of the embassy of the country for which the document is intended prints its mark, certifying the authenticity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs functionary;

Consular certification of commercial documents goes through the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. In this case, right after the Chamber of Commerce and Industry prints all of its marks, the document is sent to the consular department of the embassy of the destination country.
